The Atabaque is also another important instrument in capoeira The atabaque helps in maintaing the rythm of the game There is usualy only one atabaque in the roda The person who plays the atabaque must not only know how to play the basic capoeira rythm but also know how to follow the different rythms played by the berimbau, how to hold hold that rythm while the berimbau’s add variations and sing aswell.
